Philippians 2

  1. Read the section of verses 1-11, what is the central theme?

  2. In this section what are Paul's commands to the Philippians? How could you apply some of these to your own life?

  3. In verses 4-11 Paul gives an explanation of Christ's humility. What happens after Christ's humility in verses 9-11?

  5. Paul wants the Philippians to hold fast to their faith whether he is there or not, with “fear and trembling“ he wants the them to guard their faith. In verse 13, Paul says that God works in you and he lists two ways He does this, explain those two ways.

  6. In Deuteronomy 32:5, the Israelites are described as crooked and twisted generation, having been blemished, recall also their grumbling in the wilderness. In verses 14-16 in Philippians we are called to be the opposite of that. Verse 14 says. “Do all things without grumbling or disputing”, what do verses 15-16 say is the goal of that?
